Ever since she stepped onto the 2002 U.S. Open court in a black spandex onesie,  Serena Williams has all but redefined tennis style. After all, who needs plain whites when you can wear hot pink, black studs, neon yellow, and denim miniskirts instead? With less than a week before this year’s U.S. Open, Williams, fresh off of a win at Cincinnati and on her way to world domination (a.k.a a possible fourth Grand Slam), took a few minutes to sit down with me at a special Nike Court event in New York City. There we discussed on-court style influences, how her looks have evolved over the years, and where she finds the confidence to take major fashion risks.
